Medical Supplies Headed For Nigeria

A 40 foot shipping container filled with medical supplies left Toledo, Ohio today bound for Jos, Nigeria. Among the items were a baby incubator, ultrasound machine, diagnostic microscope, and various carts, syringes, and general supplies. The majority of the equipment and supplies is bound for Our Lady of Apostles Hospital and Orphanage in the city of Jos.

This valuable shipment is made possible by Catholic Healthcare Partners. Employees of CHP amassed the surplus supplies over the past year. The charitable foundation of CHP donated the majority of the funds to cover the cost of the shipment with SSE picking up the balance. SSE’s in-country representatives will manage the shipment, due in Lagos on December 31,  from the port to Jos. Pray for the safe and intact arrival of the shipment!

Our deepest thanks to the people of CHP for their effort and dedication to making this project happen. Special thanks to Jan Donley and Renee Springer who spearheaded this project after visiting Jos and seeing the need. Also, we want to thank Mike Gerhardt and his team for their work in coordinating the shipment (and loading the container!). Most of all, we want to thank Diane Jendrich, who took this project and really made it possible through the collection of all of the items.
